Sherrilene Classen named PHHP Alumna of the Year

Dr. Classen, chair of the UF department of occupational therapy and a graduate of the college’s master’s in public health in epidemiology program, was recognized for outstanding leadership in the field of occupational therapy and for important contributions to driving research.

DPT student wins Ben Brown Scholarship

Monica Velasco has received the Ben Brown Scholarship presented by the Florida State Elks Association. The scholarship provides her with $10,000 per year of support throughout her studies in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

"We were both fortunate enough to pursue our goals of advancing our education in the UF DPT program. We also know the financial challenges associated with higher education. For us it was important to give back to the program that facilitated the success we have had in our careers.
